Choose around daily movement
For an entry door, consider privacy, daylight, hardware, and the space needed for the door to swing. For a patio or lanai opening, consider furniture placement, the panels you want to move, and how people pass between the two spaces.
Bring photographs taken from both sides of the opening. Explain any sticking, difficult locking, worn tracks, or water concerns so the condition discussion is distinct from the style discussion.
- List the entry, patio, or lanai doors involved.
- Identify the direction of travel and nearby obstructions.
- Keep photographs of frames, thresholds, and surrounding finishes.
